Action, Inc. is a private non-profit organization established in 1965 to
address the causes and consequences of poverty in the Greater Haverhill,
Amesbury and Newburyport areas. We currently employ approximately 140
employees (both full-time and part-time) throughout our service area. We

Adult Learning Center
Part-Time Instructor (ABE/ESOL)
The ABE/ESOL Instructor provides
group and individual instruction to adult learners. Responsibilities
include: Aligning the curriculums to the ABE frameworks and participate in
curriculum and program development; Maintain student assessment information
to track student progress throughout the year; Meet with students to update
goals throughout the year; Maintain records such as attendance so that the
Center can provide needed statistics to DOE.
Position is 14 hours per week. Hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 12:00pm.
Hourly pay rate is $18.27
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Teaching Certificate preferred
Experience working with the adult learner population
Sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to adapt teaching styles and materials to meet individual needs of
students
Excellent oral and written communication skills
